Duties and Responsibilities:
Applications Chemist will be responsible for carrying out bench and pilot scale work related to development of products and technologies for sale by SCF; research, development and testing for contract research clients; production process development, and technical support for existing products. Research areas include surfactants and cleaners, fertilizer coatings for controlled release and improved handling, and specialty industrial chemicals for many applications.
Principle activities and work functions:
Assist in experiments and trials up to pilot scale
Chemical and physical testing using wet chemistry and instrument procedures
Maintain equipment for laboratory scale-up/pilot projects and testing
Maintain proper laboratory notebooks, organize results and prepare reports
Expertise required:
Basic laboratory and mechanical skills
College level chemistry or equivalent
1-4 years of laboratory and/or plant experience, preferably in industries where SCF is active
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a laboratory environment
Computer competency
